Separation processes will vary depending on materials / size and can include:
- Size reduction – primary shredding
- Separation of ferrous metal – usually with an overband or drum magnet
- Cleaning of ferrous metal (tyre wire) with a Clean Wire Separator
- Separation of remaining ferrous – usually with magnetic head pulley or drum magnet. This may take a number of stages to produce a virtually wire free rubber product / crumb
